Trekking in Doi Inthanon National Park is an unforgettable experience for those who love nature and adventure. Located in Northern Thailand, this national park is a popular destination for hikers and trekkers. A day trip typically starts with a pickup from your hotel in Chiang Mai town early in the morning.
Upon arrival, visitors have the option to choose between two different trekking trails: the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail or Baan Mae Klang Luang Trail. Both trails take approximately 2-3 hours to complete and offer unique experiences. The Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail offers a panoramic view of the park's lush forest and diverse wildlife. It's a perfect trail for those looking for an easy trek to admire the surroundings. On the other hand, the Baan Mae Klang Luang Trail takes you through the jungle and is more challenging, but rewards visitors with a secluded waterfall and a chance to spot some rare bird species.
After completing the trek, visitors will stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, before continuing on to the park's main attraction - the highest peak of Thailand. At the summit, visitors can take a short nature trail and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and green forest.
Before heading back to Chiang Mai, visitors will make a stop at the King and Queen pagodas, two beautiful structures built in honor of the King and Queen rama9 of Thailand. The drive back to Chiang Mai town takes about 1 hour. The day trip ends with a transfer to a hotel or guesthouse in Chiang Mai town, around 4:30-5:00 p.m.
Trekking in Doi Inthanon National Park is a great way to explore the beautiful nature of Northern Thailand. Whether you choose the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail or the Baan Mae Klang Luang trail, you are guaranteed an unforgettable experience.
